PURSuE Happiness

I think every person at some point of time in his or her life collects something. There are so many things, which can possibly be collected - starting from good old stamps and coins, ending with... coat hangers or doll faces... Collecting definitely brings positive emotions and - often, but not always - develops the knowledge or skills - or at least this is what collectors like to think ;)

These wonderful purses were photographed by me in Venice and they all are produced locally. I found a great variety of colours, shapes and sizes - all too beautiful to be true! It was really hard for me to resist the temptation of buying many of these sweet little things at the local leather shop...

My collection is not very big as I started it not long ago plus I only buy purses for everyday use... But I can still say that I already have several rather cute items :) For some reason I think purses are charming - they are so small, a bit old fashioned yet exquisite... just like this one:

I came to thinking that one good way to collect things without actually storing them would be just to photograph them. Then you can have a collection of something and it won't take up any space at all :). It also has a practical side of not having to spend too much on your collections - plus you could collect pretty much anything!

How beautiful those little leather purses are! If it were me, and if I saw them in person, I'd want to buy one of each size in every color! Impractical though. I like your idea of collecting them in photographs!

You're right, collecting photographs doesn't hurt the pocket.
Gosh I love those purses. Love them even more for their prices!

Those are so sweet, and a great basis for a collection. I tend to have very boring purses, because I need them to be practical. In my teens I had all sorts of things to put my money in - embroidered Chinese silk or whatever I found. Now I just buy boring practical things for all the cards and receipts. Shame.

I agree with the idea of a digital collection - my mum has all of her handkerchief collection, and most of our shared button collection, at her house. That's one of the reasons that we had such fun photographing them together last time I was there - now I have a copy of everything in her collection!

Digital collections do make life easier, don't they? Our desires stay (partially) satisfied and we can afford so much more this way! :D

Floss, I didn't realize your mother's collection remains back at home. I actually thought you have it with you!

Why are they printed with the Florentine lily?
I'm not sure they are Venitian...
