Pride And Prejudice And Zombies

First thing I thought wen I saw this book was: '...What?', but then it got me curious.. Has anyone read it yet? Something is telling me soon there will be a whole series of classics remakes in the similar fashion. Well, the first one is always the most interesting.

First 3 chapters of the book can be found here if you are curious.

From what I know it's quite a trend already. Have a look: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mashup_(book) ...recently this trend spread "even" to Poland (wow?)... http://www.runa.pl/przedwiosnie-zywych-trupow.html

Apparently I didn't do my homework on this one, shame... so thanks, Michalis - wow, those authors were so quick to catch on! Have you read "Przedwiośnie żywych trupów", is it any good? :)

I've read many of Jane Austen's books and Pride and Prejudice more than once. But this new "version" with Zombies I've never read it and by the cover looks like a bit creepy. It's amazing the huge sucess it had on the US. To me Jane Austen is the great romance' classic so knowing quite well her books it seems to me strange to pick her story and change it to a zombieworld. The big advantage is that it may attract new public to Jane Austen's originals and certainly she will be read by many who have never became interested in her work. Hugs

Since I am sort of zombie - fan lately, I might try one of those mushups...then I'm not sure about Przedwiośnie, not my favourite genre, still maybe the zombie touch made it more readable ;)
