Don’t you think the Nobel Prize in Literature is a bit dangerous? For, not a few people who was awarded the prize committed suicide. This prize is usually given for aged novelist. But they won’t be able to write masterpieces again. So it looks like the beaten Rocinante of Don Quixote.
There were two novelists who got the prize in our country. One of them, Yasunari Kawabata, has committed suicide. He was 75 years old at that time. Another novelist, Kenzaburo Ohe, could survive because he spoke out he wouldn’t write again.
I don’t know exactly the reason why E. Hemingway committed suicide. If he had determined not to write again, he might have survived.
By the way, do you like “hard boiled style”? It’s truly simple, clear and declarative. But, I like adjective and adverb, too. :p
