Happy Christmas!

Photobucket

I haven't been in a very Christmas mood recently to be honest - that is mainly for two reasons - the political situation in my home country and the recent human rights infringements I can't stop thinking about... plus celebrating Christmas with +25 in India where this tradition is not big at all doesn't make the time too special...

I still wouldn't like the tradition and the meaning of Christmas to fade away from this blog and am sure it is actually all of us who make this holiday so special... I hope you are all having a very special time either with your family or on your own - have very happy holidays and a peaceful time to reflect on the year 2010!

Dear Olga, I understand what you mean let's hope with time things will change in your home country.Let's hope that people unite against terror and injustment.I cannot but admire all the brave and courageous people who stand up against repression. It must be very very hard.
But in spite of all this I want to wish you peace and joy and hope and all things good in the year to come.

Dear Olga, yes, it's not a good Christmas for you... As for me, and my home country Argentina, it has been a happy moment: the dictator, Videla, has been found guilty of crimes against humanity, the one who makes the world know the word "desaparecidos"(vanished), will pay his crimes in a common prison with the rest of his comrades... 30.000 humans beings, after 30 years, finally have justice. Let's hope your country will find peace and justice too.

Merry Christmas to you Olga (and Arek). Sorry to hear that you're not really in the Christmas spirit. Hopefully things will improve soon enough. Still, wishing you well, and best wishes for a Happy New Year.

The best wishes for what concerns you Olga.
I admire how you still bring positive vibes with all that is happening in your homeland.
Here in Greece it's not a secret anymore how bad the situation is.
We still can take action to change this and be active in everything that concerns us.
A lot of kisses and hugs for you Olga! xxx

Dear Olga,
Looking backwards, History has taught us that all the dark shadowed moments tend to end some day and, inevitably, sooner or later democracy and liberty will prevaile. I'm sure this is just a dark cloud that stoped above your beautiful country but I'm sure that the values of liberty will prevaile, as they always did in any dictatorianship. Regarding Christmas in India, please try to look positively to the unique experience you are living and try to take the most of it with Arek by your side. The picture is really astonishing, to see christmas lights on a palm tree is really surrealistic and I'm sure you'll keep very good memories of these days in the future. HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON. Many Hugs from Portugal, TI

I am aware of the serious problems that exist in your country. That's why i made a related post in my blog...

This is the post

But it is in Greek (it may be a problem, but, anyway, you know the situation of Belarus better than me)... The fact is that i just wanted to dedicate this post to you...

Thanks all for being here and reading this blog. I keep being amazed how this blogging thing works - bringing together people with such different histories, realities and interests - yet after all there is something in common....

Hi!
I could copy and past the article from your blog. Thank you, Olga.
The dictator must be brought down. It is a historical fact though it may need time. .
I hope the people of Belarus can live peacefully. I send you greetings of solidarity and sympathy.
