Colours of Óbidos

It seems that summer and busy time at work are a really bad combination for blogging :( . And unfortunately it doesn't seem to be getting any better for me... I'm not sleeping much these days. I was in Warsaw this week and the next one I am going to be in the UK - also for work. So today after such a long absence I'm back with some colourful memories of our trip to Portugal. There are so many things to mention about this trip... I just wish I had enough time!

We were lucky to visit a small town called Óbidos. It is located on a hill and is encircled by a fortified wall and has an ancient Moorish castle. The well-preserved medieval look of its streets, squares, walls and its massive castle make the town a very picturesque place to visit. And when visiting, it is compulsory to try the local cherry liquor called ginjinha. But what struck me most about Óbidos was how colourful the place looked. And here is the reason why - the town was literally drowning in flowers! (and I couldn't stop taking pictures)

The colours are so bright, that sometimes it is hard to believe from the distance all these flowers are real. But when you come closer...

Garden Party

I was invited to a virtual garden party organized by Floss from Troc, Broc and Recup (Happy Birthday, Floss!!). It is my first one, but guess what is great about virtual parties is that you can totally create them yourself and you are very unlimited with your choices! And definitely now it is a perfect timing for such a party - it is summer time! So here is my version of a perfect garden party :)

I would like everything at my party to be green!

Spring Is In Full Swing!

I love spring! It is my favourite season of the year (late spring that is :)) It is great to see the trees in bloom or putting on the colour of fresh leaves and flowers of all colours imaginable around you... - you simply can not take your eyes off!

Although the most beautiful days of spring are already behind us (I guess for many of you it already feels like summer) - here are some pictures of the English gardens we took while our May break in the UK last year.

We went camping near a tiny village called Lyndon (Leicestershire) and the village turned out to be so beautiful in its full spring bloom - we ended up taking walks there every day and I couldn't stop taking pictures.

Lyndon has literally got no more than 4 streets, but everything you see around you - every house and every garden - is just stunning..! We passed by this little ancient church with a cemetery..

And a local pub...

I couldn't be more amazed at how beautifully the English arrange their gardens - it is such a great tradition! I think it is impossible to look at something like this and remain indifferent...
