It's funny - I was supposed to be flying somewhere over India right about now... but I had to postpone the flight by 1 week instead, because my visa was not issued on time :( Fingers crossed I will make it to India in a week's time...

Last week was both very stressful and pretty fun at the same time - I ended up working quite hard, almost wanting to quit, then really wanting to quit, then (thanks God for Fridays!) going out with friends from work and having a really good time together... That all resulting a bit of a sleep-deprived state of mind, hence - the dog with the elephant-sock-trunk - I'm almost sure I dreamed of it at some point of time last week. When I saw the photo it was like a déjà vu, or maybe even more like... Bingo!
A few times in my life I've had moments of absolute clarity, when for a few brief seconds the silence drowns out the noise and I can feel rather than think, and things seem so sharp. and the world seems so fresh. I can never make these moments last. I cling to them but like everything, they fade. I have lived my life on these moments. They pull me back to the present and I realize that everything is exactly the way it was meant to be.
It has been a while... And now as I'm writing here I realize how I missed you all. And it feels good to be back.. And it is almost as if I never left.. And also it is as if it has been years and years ago and as if I was miles and miles away from here... And most importantly it feels so warm and cosy... again.
The break was a good thing to do. Summer is always hectic, but when blogginng gets hectic it is something which one can easily stop loving...
Oh, I've been around this summer, you would not believe starting with sunny Paris going on to the magic Norway then all the way to St.Peters passing thru Moscow leading -> HOME HOME HOME :) followed by an escape to Valencia for a weekend ...and the adventure of running out of pages in the passport straight after, and having to go back home to get it changed <- HOME HOME HOME continued by the absolute best summer break in Portugal and quickly ending with a working week from London - which was last week!
You would think life is nice and easy this way. Actually it is a bit more complicated than that. First, add full time job in between of the above, throw in friendships, relationships, ... some random thoughts. And then mix this with the memories from the past, taking care of pets, packing at the last moment and lots of reminiscences of each day. Throw in some more work, as the mixture might still be lacking its flavour... Add visiting parents. Then goes absolutely the best ingredient - a 3 months assignment in India which will start for me this October (oh boy, MUST I find the time to blog from there) Then add getting promoted in the end... - which was last week!
Would you find time for blogging in my place? I know you would! Sadly I didn't :( But I am planning to do so now. It is good to be back.
The sun shining almost around the clock, breath-taking views and neck-breaking heights, neat red wooden houses, melting snows and blooming trees, hundreds of waterfalls, turquoise and dark blue waters and no other people around. I could never imagine fjords are like this.
I've felt good. Really happy and carefree. I don’t know whether it’s cause the sun was so bright, and everything is warm beautiful, or that I’ve spent a lot of time in a country where there are really few people around.
I couldn't imagine that fjord water can change its colour so much and the biggest surprise was to see it become so turquoise - just like the waters of the Mediterranean.
Absurdism is a philosophy stating that the efforts of humanity to find inherent meaning in the universe will ultimately fail (and hence are absurd), because no such meaning exists, at least in relation to the individual.
Don't you think life would be so much more fun if it's taken less seriously by some? After coming back to work today after the break I'm in the mood of re-reading 'The Nose'. Has anyone read it? It's a classic example of absurdism to me. Which one of the above (if any) appeals most to you? :)

One of the most impressive sites I visited in Paris this time was Yves Saint Laurent exhibition in Petit Palais.

The legacy of Yves Saint Laurent gets a deep exploration in this exhibition. The show is the first in Paris since the designer's death in 2008 and it analyzes the full measure of Saint Laurent's considerable influence on fashion.
At the most luxurious level of dressmaking - the 'Haute Couture' YSL created clothes that were pure perfection in their construction, perfectly sublime in their proportion, ravishingly dazzling in their pure color and imaginative in the mix of texture and colour.

Today much of what he achieved is taken for granted, but forty-fifty years ago, when he had his first collections, it shocked and rocked the establishment. He understood the path to the future even though the general public was not always receptive, and reassured with interviews, magazine and television ads to explain his collections.

The total of all his work is shown in about 307 models of high-fashion and ready to wear clothes. Also various photographs and films spanning over 40 years tracing the story and the evolution of Yves Saint Laurent, the man and the fashion institution. You can also see his real and 'mental' studios.

The exhibition takes place from March to August and is open to the public every day from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 AM- 06:00 PM. The grand entrance of the Palais is breathtaking, and I, like everyone else, stopped in my tracks, lingered, wandered around, and enjoyed the marvels of the inner garden with its beautiful quiet café and a book shop with its extensive collection of books on fashion.
Those who can't make it to Paris this summer can still enjoy the beauties of all the 15 exhibition halls virtually on YSL Retrospective (in French only), there is also a video about the exhibition and various other videos of his Haute Couture collections:
